Christie's continues its commitment to online art sales with four new auctions online only. These auctions are called First Open, Contemporary Edition and Trespassing. They include post-war and contemporary art as well as prints and multiples.
Christie's First Open auction features a collection post-war and contemporary artists. It runs from July 9-21. The featured artists are Banksy, David Hockney Alexander Calder, Georg Baselitz, and several others. One of the highlights of the collection is a section of rare Andy Warhol polaroid photographs, property from Litsa D.Tsitsera and color fields paintings from Arthur K. Solomon. The prices for this auction are between $1,000 USD and $100,000 USD.
The Contemporary Edition Sale runs July 9-20. It features more than 200 prints and multiples by Andy Warhol, Keith Haring and David Hockney. Prices start at less than $1,000 USD, but they can reach up to $80,000 USD+.
Trespassing was the second auction offer of this collection by Christie's. It was co-curated by Ronnie K. Pirovino. This sale highlights the influence of graffiti on contemporary art and includes works by KAWS, Invader and Jonas Wood as well as Allison Zuckerman, and Jonas Wood. The auction also features NFTs from Mad Dog Jones and Victor Mosquera, as well as Fvckrender. All very popular NFT artists at this time. This is the first time NFT's are included in a multi-category Christie's sale. Trespassing is open from July 9-22.
Lastly, Superplastic is the Janky Heist. This NFT collection was created by Janky & Guggimon with the collaboration of entertainment brand Superplastic & Christie's. Today's two-part drop includes artwork from Gucci Ghost and Shantell Martin. Janky & Guggimon will also be featured in the auction. This collection runs from July 9-22. It is based Superplastic. The Janky Heist is a short film Janky & Guggimon made using security footage and police footage. It follows their attempt to enter Christie's New York to steal valuable works of art.
